Creative Music Literacy with Carrie Salisbury

Dive into an innovative workshop for Suzuki educators with resources for teaching applied music theory to string students through games, creative composition, and improvisation. Explore strategies for introducing chord theory with early arranging and composition skills using folk songs and popular music. The class will include: a structured pedagogy for music literacy benchmarks, applied activities for lessons and group classes, empowerment to create original arrangements for your multi-level groups, and a comprehensive teacher resource packet in PDF form.  Bring your instruments to try the games and strategies yourself as we build a new arrangement together as a multi-level, mixed instrument class.
